Located in Arizona, the Grand Canyon National Park offers a residency program to artists of any discipline the opportunity to work at one of the world’s most beautiful sites. Through community-engaged programming, this residency inspires visitors and locals to deepen their connection to Grand Canyon National Park.
This program seeks artists who engage contemporary, interactive, immersive, and/or socially engaged methods to make positive environmental and cultural impacts through their work, specifically artists who focus on: climate resiliency, environmental sciences, natural and cultural histories, and historic interpretation and preservation.
Annually, three artists are selected to live and work on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona for 3-10 weeks. Residents are selected for the relevance and impact that their projects or programs can make on our visitors.
Artists may indicate their preferred dates and potential scheduling conflicts. Because residencies are awarded in order of a person’s acceptance to the program, preferred dates cannot be guaranteed.

- $750 stipend per week
- $250 stipend for travel
- Supply reimbursement of up to $300
