The Queer Narratives Festival provides a visual and performing arts destination for LGBTQ+ artists in Kansas City. The 5th Annual Queer Narratives Festival includes 8 weeks of LGBTQ+ programming that includes the visual art exhibit in partnership with InterUrban ArtHouse taking place throughout June, July and August. The Queer Narratives Festival culminates in the Main Festival taking place the first weekend in August which features two nights of performances of all varieties.

Performing artists receive an artist stipend of $300-$400 depending on size and set length. Set lengths range from 15 minutes to 45 minutes.
Visual Artists receive an artist stipend of $100 and also have the opportunity to sell their work during the exhibit. Please note that the visual artists’ work will be shown as part of InterUrban ArtHouse’s Identity Exhibit. InterUrban ArtHouse takes a 30% commission of all exhibition sales. Dates for the exhibit are listed in the submission form.
