The Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency awards an international community of artists time and space amidst Joshua Tree National Park. Seven week residencies include scholarship funds, living accommodations, and studio space designed to accommodate a broad range of artistic activity and open studio events.
Artists selected for this program are at all stages of their careers and work in all media, including drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, film, video, new media, installation, fiction and non fiction writing, interdisciplinary, social practice and architecture.
As part of the residency program, each artist is invited to live in one of two homes that are nestled on five acres surrounded by the panoramic mountain views. Adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park, where the Sonoran and Mojave deserts meet, each home provides quiet seclusion.
