Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission sponsors Artist INC programming for Kansas military service members, veterans, and family.
Artist INC has partnered with Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission to offer programming to military service members, veterans, and their families.
The programming includes two of Artist INC’s programs, What Works, and Artist INC Express. Available to and crafted exclusively for members of the military, veterans, and family, this programming provides a path to continued artistic development, professional viability, and sustainability.
What Works—Kansas Military (Monday, April 5, 2021 at 5: 30 p.m.)
What Works is a workshop based on sharing the common behaviors of successful artist entrepreneurs.
This workshop is an introduction to the Artist INC programming for Kansas Military and Veterans. This workshop is for military service members, veterans, and family/caregivers of service members living in Kansas who are interested in or actively pursuing a career in the creative arts.
The last thirty minutes of the workshop are dedicated to Q&A and sharing of resources and opportunities specifically for military service members, veterans, and family.
Attendence at this workshop is recommended prior to registering for the second workshop, Artist INC Express—Kansas Military (Friday–Sunday, May 21– 23, 2021), a weekend workshop, for artists of all disciplines, to address the business of art.
Artist INC Express is a three-day intensive workshop created to address the specific business needs and challenges artists of all disciplines face every day. Building upon Artist INC’s experience working with hundreds of artists in the Midwest region through its core Artist INC Live seminar, Artist INC Express is designed to focus participants on learning the most essential skills in the shortest amount of time.
Led by professional artist facilitators, the workshop is highly interactive and includes activities and discussions focused on goal setting, writing about one’s work, and building a personal brand— the building blocks for a sustainable art practice and a successful arts business.
Like all Artist INC programming, Artist INC Express immediately activates a network of artists in their community, leading to additional peer to peer resource sharing and support long after the workshop concludes.
The Artist INC Express workshop is led by Artist INC’s veteran peer facilitators. This live online workshop will be delivered via Zoom. Workshop participants have the opportunity to interact with the facilitators and other artists, engage in live discussions and activities.
Both programs are free, but registration is limited.
What Works and Artist INC Express for Kansas Military are generously subsidized by the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission (KCAIC) and in partnership with Arts Council of Johnson County and the Office of Military and Veteran’s Affairs at Kansas State University,
