Mirante Xique-Xique (MXX) is a residency program for visual artists, curators, writers, architects, musicians, chefs, environmentalists, and scholars who are interested in living, creating and being immersed in the environment of the Chapada Diamantina.
Through cultural activities, exchanges and environmental education, it is the mission of MXX to safeguard the region’s architectural and intangible heritage. Mirante Xique-Xique is a place for research, production, immersion, and contact with nature.
MXX confront various problems related to a system that is collapsing in multiple aspects (i.e. environmental, cultural, and financial), affecting both the planet and the individual.
The program is research-oriented, and anyone who can determine their own working conditions is welcome.
