Public Art (Kansas City) / Due: March 28

Kansas City’s One Percent for Art program is seeking a visionary artist or artist team to shape its future for the Barney Allis Plaza as it undergoes a transformative redesign. A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is now open at https://artist.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=14936, inviting artists from around the world to submit their qualifications for this vibrant downtown plaza.

Framed by the Kansas City Convention Center, the historic Folly Theater, and a skyline of hotels and offices, the Barney Allis Plaza will become a central hub of activity and connection.

The selected artist(s) will develop a cohesive, site-wide artistic vision, integrating artwork throughout the plaza to create an immersive and unified experience.

Petrichor Projects will serve as the curatorial consultant, collaborating with the design and construction teams to ensure art is thoughtfully integrated into the site and will be an essential element of the plaza’s identity.
