Frances Story (née Poet Jen Harris) is a Kansas City–based teaching writer whose work blends creative grit with emotional honesty. A proud wife and member of the first generation of federally recognized married lesbians, she writes from the front lines of love and resistance. Her work explores queer-specific struggles, including chosen motherhood. Founder of Salt Tooth Writers and author of three poetry collections, she leads workshops and coaching. Frances is pursuing her MFA at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
