Taiomah Rutledge is a multidisciplinary artist and printmaker based in Wichita Kansas. A member of the Ojibwe, Meskwaki and Dakota nations. Taiomah is a teaching artist and cofounder of Warclan Collective. He imbues his work with First Nation perspectives and reclaimed narratives. Taiomah is an undergraduate at Wichita State University, majoring in graphic design and fine art. He is a cultural advocate and mentor for native youth, instructing at his family’s drum “Thunderhead.” Taiomah has presented workshops for the Contemporary Indigenous Arts Festival at Ulrich Museum of Wichita State University, Wichita Art Museum, and “Culture as Prevention” project with the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma. He was an Art Chatter featured Artist and guest speaker at the Wichita Art Museum, and has exhibited art as part of the Twice Removed Exhibition. Taiomah has exhibited for the Mid-America All Indian Museum and curated “Mino Bimaadiziwin” for Harvester Arts and is currently exhibiting in Topeka Kansas for ArtsConnect.
