Walking Together: Investing in Folklife in Communities of Color / Due: March 19

The US Regional Arts Organization’s (USRAO’s) launched a new program, Walking Together: Investing in Folklife in Communities of Color. The program will award significant non-matching grants to traditional artists, practitioners, and keepers of traditional knowledge rooted in communities of color, as well as community organizations and collectives supporting folklife in communities of color, including nonprofits, local and Tribal governments, businesses, and more.

Walking Together has a two-step application process. Traditional artists/practitioners and organizations are now invited to complete a brief Round 1 Self-Nomination form, due March 19, 2025. The RAOs will invite select finalists to complete Round 2 Applications between June 5 and July 21, 2025. Regional Walking Together advisors are available at each RAO to discuss work and help to complete the self-nomination.
