Call for Artists for the Grand Avenue Pedestrian and Bike Bridge (KC) / Deadline: August 6

The City of Kansas City, Missouri One Percent for Art program seeks to commission a United States-based professional visual artist, or artist team, to design art for the protective fencing area on the new Grand Avenue Pedestrian and Bike Bridge.

The total budget available for this project is $200,000. The RFQ deadline is Friday, August 6.

This new pedestrian and bicycle bridge will be adjacent to the existing Grand Boulevard vehicular bridge and will be completed in tandem with the future Kansas City Streetcar Riverfront Extension project. The pedestrian and bicycle bridge will provide a safe and continuous connection between the River Market neighborhood/business district to the developing Berkley Riverfront Park area.

Please note that the visual artists' work will be shown as part of InterUrban ArtHouse's Identity Exhibit. InterUrban ArtHouse takes a 30% commission of all exhibition sales. Dates for the exhibit are listed in the submission form. Artisans, craftspeople and vendors: You will have the opportunity to participate in our QNF Art Fair, taking place on Friday, July 19 at InterUrban ArtHouse. Through a competitive, open-call process, AILF selects local artists to exhibit their artwork, create site-specific artwork, or perform along and near the KC Streetcar route as well as at other sites in Downtown Kansas City from May – November.
