Crossroads Artboards (KC) / Due: January 8

Charlotte Street is seeking submissions from Kansas City area artists who want their work considered for the 2024-2025 Crossroads Artboards. In partnership with the Crossroads Community Association, the Artboards is an ongoing public art initiative that showcases local contemporary art on an exterior, double-sided billboard at 125 Southwest Boulevard. From April 2024 through March 2025, new, commissioned images by Kansas City area artists will be presented and rotated approximately every three months.

Selected artists, chosen through a competitive process, will receive artist fees of $1,000 each for completing and delivering print-ready images for one set of two side-by-side billboards. Proposals are invited from ALL interested non-student artists 21 years of age and older living within the five county Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area (Jackson, Platte, and Clay counties in Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas).

Proposals are reviewed and selected by a panel comprised of artists and arts professionals that will be made public following the selection of the work. Charlotte Street administers the process from application through installation. Public Announcement of the recipients of Artboard commissions will be published around February 26, 2024. The first installation of Artboards will be the first Friday of April, 2024.
