Amanda Pfister

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and living in various places throughout the Midwest and currently residing in Wichita, Amanda Pfister earned her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Kansas followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

She is a visual artist working with primarily photography.  Her work explores ideas of place, feminism, globalization, and uses of technology to connect and disconnect us. Her other interests are curating art shows and collaborating with other artists.  She founded ICT Soup, a grassroots effort for crowdfunding creative projects through community meals. She was a  Community Fellow with Harvester Arts and has been selected to be a Concept 2020 Focus artists with the Oklahoma  Visual Arts Coalition.
