Austin Art in Public Places / Deadline: August 18

The City of Austin Economic Department is offering two public art project opportunities totaling $1M. Texas based artists can apply until August 18 for the artwork commissions which range from $43,000 to $625,000. The total award includes design, fabrication, installation, engineering fees, travel and shipping expenses, insurance, and all other project-related costs.

Open Call Opportunities (for Texas-based artists): 
– Redbud Trail Bridge & Isle – artwork budget $625,000 
– Longhorn Dam Bridge – artwork budget $190,000 

The Red Bud Trail Bridge & Isle and the Longhorn Dam Bridge projects are open to all eligible artists in the state meeting the project criteria. Artists/Artist Teams familiar with the city’s pride in its diverse creative community are encouraged to apply. Additionally, artists/artists teams able to interact with the community and who understand that accessibility (both physical and conceptual) are paramount to this project, are also encouraged to apply.
